Resolute, Compassionate And Commited Flashcards
What is being emotionally aware
We make effort to understand ourselves and others
We engage with and listen to others, making efforts to understand needs, perspectives and concerns
We use these insights to inform our actions and decisions
We are able to control our emotions in stressful situations and understand our own motivations and reasons for behaviours
It also means valuing diversity and differences in approaches to work, in thinking and peoples backgrounds
Acting with sensitivity, compassion and warmth while understanding thoughts, feelings and concerns of people
Why is it important to be emotionally aware
The way in which we conduct ourselves is just as important as what we do. Communicating and acting politely, respectfully and with compassion helps drive and maintain public trust
Empathy is important, especially if we are to engage and involve some of the most vulnerable people we encounter, who may not be fully able to express themselves or articulate thoughts or feelings
Understanding ourselves means we are able to improve our own resilience and cope effectively during challenging situations
What is taking ownership
We take personal responsibility for our roles and accountabilities but we do not let this hold is back from being effective and taking appropriate risks
We make decisions at appropriate levels and having a clear rationale for them
Accepting responsibility for decisions
We seek feedback, learn from our mistakes and reflect to improve
Demonstrating pride in our work is important
Our selflessness means that we also seek to help solve issues or problems
We recognised where your own limitations in our knowledge and skills are
We take responsibility for ensuring that support or development is sought to minimise risk
Why is taking ownership important?
Not all decisions need senior approval, but where appropriate, this means we can respond more swiftly to challenges whole ensuring we provide a full rationale for our responds
All challenges won’t be in our comfort zone, everyone of us needs to feel confident abs able to take Responsibility
These behaviours mean we are empowered, effective and able to learn from our mistake
Doing this allows us to own and see success through your delivery of results and not just when a process has been followed
