Resegmentation of the Sclerotome Flashcards
1
Q
How many somites make 1 vertebra
A
4
2
Q
How are the vertebrae segmented from the somites?
A
Sclerotomes split from their anterior/posterior segments. The posterior end of one sclerotome fuses to the caudal end of the next anterior sclerotome fo make one vertebra. Also ribs
3
Q
How are the myotomes affected by resegmentation?
A
The myotomes stay where they are, when they develop into muscle the one piece of muscle attaches to two sclerotomes.
4
Q
Where do motor neurons and dorsal root ganglia axons formed by the neural tube go?
A
They develop anteriorly to the vertebrae and connect to the muscle
5
Q
What the the first 4 somites from the sclerotome contribute to?
A
The occipital bone
