-Experimental design: manipulate independent variable and controlled dependant variable
-Quasi- experimental design: manipulates independent but doesn’t control or randomise
-non-experimental design: no manipulation of independent variable
May include measures of spread and central tendency

-Ethnography: study of certain culture
-Phenomenology: study life experiences and how they are interpreted
-Grounded theory: study social structures and processes, patterns of behaviour.
