Q

Correlational Studies v. Experimental Studies

A

Correlational= What relates to what?
e.g.. x relates to y
e.g.. Variable 1 = icecream sold
Variable 2 = # of cracks on the sidewalk

Q

What are some ethical procedures in Psych research?

A
  • Provide informed consent (inform participants about the experimental procedures, risks, and benefits before they fully consent to take part in the study)
  • Maintain confidentiality & privacy (all records of their behavior must be strictly confidential and the participant must give permission for this data to be shared with the public)
  • Assess risks & benefits (risks must be kept to a minimum and the benefits must outweigh the risks)
