Q

This dog looks like my dog.
But I think he’s an imposter.
Why do I think this?

A

Capgras Delusion

(You can get this by having bad brain damage, a bad
accident, a stroke, a period of being unconscious, or
have been in a coma. You experience no emotional
reaction in the presence of someone so the only
possible reason why you feel this way is because
they are an imposter)

Q

Explain the DRM

Paradigm

A

-Participants studied a list of words. The test
required them to remember as many words from the
list as possible

-Results indicated people recalled a word related to
the list but not actually presented there “sleep” (this
word is known as a ‘lure’). Falsely remember sleep
because of the gist feature in our memory

-Participants made a false memory of seeing the
word on the list (semantic memory) and seeing the
word being mouthed by the researcher (episodic
memory)
