Research ethics

A

Depends on the moral character of the researcher
American education research association 2002
- researcher should know fabricate or misinterpret
-should know use their professional roles for fraudulent purposes
-refrain from selectively communicating findings.

  • researcher should not cause any mental or physical harm to the participants
  • researcher should attempt to benefit the participants in someway.
  • researcher should protect the participants right to anonymity, right to privacy, right to withdraw as they wish,
  • if the identity is known to the researcher, the researcher should maintain confidentiality.
    ❌dont promise a confidentiality that cant be achieved
    🫡respect it
    🌚make sure the researcher is identifiable and traceable
  • obtaining consent forms

Consent form
Active - participants grating consent by buying.
Passive: Not opting out or objecting to the stufy
