What is Exploratory Research
Exploratory Research will not give the marketing firm a clear path to solve the problem. it’s used to help formulate the clear problem
How can you conduct Exploratory Research
Done with Qualitative Data:
- Focus groups
- Interviews
- Projective Tests
- Ethnographies
What is Descriptive Research
It is used when you have more information or secondary data to build the next step of the marketing process.
Descriptive research will allow you to say if a project will succeed or fail with 100% certainty and why?
How can you conduct Descriptive Research
- Longitudinal Study (Done over a long period of time)
- Cross sectional study (Done at once, you have you answer right away)
What is Causal Research
Causal Research is used to provide evidence regarding causal relationships. It’s used to measure the impact of Factor 1 (X) on Factor 2 (Y)
How can you conduct Causal Research
- Laboratory experiment
- Field experiment
What are the 2 types of data
- Primary Data: Research conducted today for a problem we are facing now
- Secondary Data: Data that already exists or that was already collected in the past
