Basic requirements for certification?
Be at least 17 years old.
read, speak, write and read English.
Hold U.S. Student Pilot Certificate, Sport Pilot Certificate, or Recreational Pilot Certificate.
Other requirements for certification.
Logbook endorsement from instructor who completed training for knowledge test and certifies you’re ready for the knowledge test.
Receive ground and flight training from authorized instructor as well as logbook endorsement showing you’re ready for practical test (checkride).
Aeronautical Experience Requirements
40 hours total flight time
20 hours with cert.
instructor.
10 hours of solo flight time
Dual Received Req.
20 hours with Cert. Instructor to include:
3 hours to be completed within 2 calendar months of practical exam.
3 hours cross country training.
3 hours night training.
- 1 cross-country over
100nm
-10 T/O and landings to a
full stop.
3 hours under simulated IMC.
Solo Req.
10 hours solo to include:
5 hours solo cross country
- One flight must be atleast
150nm total distance
- With landings at 3 points and - one segment must be at least 50 nm straight line between two airports.
