a muscular membranous sac in the abdomen which receives urine from the kidneys and stores it for excretion
Bladder
Creates some of the liquid that is added to sperm cells to form semen. It plays an important role in keeping sperm cells alive once they enter the female reproductive system.
Prostate Gland
The organ that produces spermatozoa (male reproductive cells)
Testes
The duct by which uring is cpnveyed out of the body from the bladder, and which in male vertebrates also collects semen
Urethra
A pouch of skin protecting and containing the testes
Scrotum
A duct that transports sperm from the epididymus to the urethra
Sperm Duct
Vesicle that contributes the liquid that makes up semen
Seminal Vesicle
a highly convoluted duct behind the testis, along which sperm passes to the sperm duct
Epididymus
Semen containing sperm cells is ejaculated (released) from the penis into the vagina
Penis
Carries the ovum from the ovary to the uterus - the egg is fertilized here
Oviduct
Also known as the womb, this is the organ in the lower body of a woman where offspring are conceived
Uterus
The opening or ‘neck’ of the uterus at the top of the vagina
Cervix
a female reproductive organ in which ova or eggs are produced
Ovary
The inner layer of the uterus that is made up of the cells
Uterine Lining
Connects the cervix to the outside of the body - the sperm is deposited here during sex
Vagina
