What is Asexual reproduction?
A new offspring is produced by a single parent plant.
What is Sexual reproduction?
A new offspring is produced by a two parent plant.
What is a flower?
The reproductive part of a plant.
What is a Hermaphrodite, Perfect or Bisexual flower?
Flowers with both male and female reproductive parts.
What is a Unisexual or Incomplete flower?
Flowers with only one reproductive part, either female or male.
What are Staminate flowers?
Flowers with only male parts
What are Pistillate flowers?
Flowers with only female parts.
What are the functions of a flower?
Plays a role in reproduction, makes fruits and attracts animals to help pollination.
What are the parts of a flower?
Petal, sepal, stamen, filament, pistil, ovules, ovary, anther, style and stigma.
What is a Sepal?
Green leaf like parts of the flower that holds and protects it.
What is a Petal?
The brightly colours parts of the flower that attracts insects to help with pollination.
What is a Stamen?
The male parts of the flower, consisting of the filament and anther which makes pollen grains.
What is a Filament?
The male part of the flower that supports the anther.
What is a Anther?
The male part of the flower that makes pollen grains.
What is a Pistil?
The female parts of the flower which is made up of the ovary, ovules, stigma and style.
What is an Ovary?
The female part of the flower where seeds are made.
