Q

Photosynthesis equation:

A

Carbon dioxide + Water + light energy —-> Glucose + Oxygen
6 CO2 + 6 H2O + light energy → C6H12O6 + 6 O2

Q

What are the two stages in photosynthesis? Describe each.

A
  1. Light stage- Chlorophyll in the leaves convert light energy into chemical energy. Some of the light energy is used to split water molecules (h2o) into hydrogen (H) and oxygen (Co2) . This process is called the evolution of oxygen. The oxygen is given out as water material.
  2. Dark stage- The hydrogen relaxed from the water molecules combined with carbon dioxide to form glucose this process is called reduction of carbon dioxide. The process requires some of the energy that was absorbed during the light stage but does not require sunlight.

16
Q

What is wilting?

A

Wilting is when plants droop because they don’t have enough water.

17
Q

What is Anaerobis?

A

Anaerobis refers to processes or organisms that can live or operate in the absence of oxygen.

18
Q

What is Aerobic?

A

Aerobic refers to processes or organisms that require oxygen to function.

19
Q

What are Pholem vessels?

A

Pholem vessels transport manufactured food to other parts of the plants to be used or stored.

20
Q

What is Xylem vessels?

A

Xylem vessels carry water and mineral salts up to the leaves to be manufactured into food.
