What is reproduction?
The production of new individuals from the parent plant of the same kind is known as reproduction.
How many types of reproduction are there? Name them.
There are two types of reprodcution:
a) Sexual Reproduction
b) Asexual reproduction
What is asexual reproduction? Write down it’s characteristics.
Asexual reproduction is the process in which new individual is obtained without the formation of seeds.
It has the following characteristics:
a) One parent is involved
b) Offspring is identical to the parent
c) No gamates or sex cells are invovled
d) Doesn’t take longer time
What is sexual reproduction? Write down it’s characteristics.
Sexual reproduction is the process in which new plants are obtained with the formation of seeds.
It has the following characteristics:
a) Two parents are invovled
b) Offspring is not identical to the parent
c) Gametes are involved
d) Tke a longer period of time.
