Q

How is an embryo developed?

A

At fertilisation a male gamete fuses with a female gamete to form a zygote that end up with the full set of chromosomes - 47
The zygote undergoes cell division by mitosis and develops into an embryo
It receives a mixture of chromosomes from its mum and dada

Q

how do the female reproductive system make eggs?

A
  • eggs are female gametes and are produced every 28 days from one of the tow ovaries
  • it then passes into the fallopian tube this is where it met the sperm that have entered the vagina during sexual intercourse
  • if it isn’t fertilised by sperm , the ovum will break and pass out the vagina
  • if it is fertilised the ovum starts to divide. The new cells with transfer down the fallopian tube to the uterus and attach to the endometrium
  • a fertilised ovum develops into an embryo
