Describe in detail, at least two groups that are underrepresented in politics of a world power you have studied - Black Americans
Point - One group of people in the USA that are underrepresented in US politics are Black Americans.
Explain - For black Americans, there are relatively few role models in national politics to try and emulate. Without visible role models, black Americans may not see a road into politics and believe that only a white person would be elected where they live. This creates a vicious cycle as fewer Black Americans may be inspired to try and seek election which results in lower representation.
Example - For example, Black Americans make up 13.4% of the population but only 10.5% of Congress.

Point - Another group of people in the USA that are underrepresented in US politics are Hispanic Americans.
Explain - Hispanic Americans are less likely to be represented in government as there is a much lower participation rate among Hispanics. Some have difficulty as English is not their first language so politics and government is difficult for them to understand. This leads to fewer Latinos being elected to high office such as Governor or Senator.
