Describe two ways the US has influence on other countries - USAID
Point - One way the US has economic influence on other countries is USAID.
Explain - This means that the US provides a great amount of international aid to other countries assisting with a wide variety of issues from education and gender equality to climate change and food security. This has influence because it creates more allies internationally and builds a positive relationship in countries such as the Middle East and Africa.
Example - For example, the US sends peacekeeping troops, advisors, food, tools and financial donations to over 80 counties such as Uganda, Syria, Gaza and Afghanistan.
Describe two ways the US has influence on other countries - G7 & G20
Point - Another way the US has economic influence on other countries is the G7 and G20.
Explain - The US is a founding member of two of the worlds most powerful economic and trading alliances, the G7 and G20. They aim to find solutions to world problems that impact on world economies such as climate change, poverty and terrorism. This has influence because of the huge size of the US economy means that it can dominate descision making.
Example - For example. at the G7 summit in Italy 2024, members discussed issues such as the rising terror risk, the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the Gaza conflict.
