Sections and subsections of a practical report
What is in the introduction?-what does it state, what does it include?
What is the abstract? what part of the psychological report is it in?
Introduction- States the area that the study is a part of eg memory
Outlines other research which have been carried out in the same fiels
Includes: aim of reseach and may include a null or alternate hypotheses
Abstract
Summary of the research
Outlines the aims, method, participants, results and conclusions
It is NOT an evaluation
The abstarct is the first part of a psycholocial report

Results? what does it refer to? what is included (3)
What is used to provide evidence for hypotheses?
Discussion? what does it include? (4)
Appendices? what does it include?- what kind of information does it provide?
Method- enables others to carry out the resesrch with the same conditions. Provides information on the sample/technique, experimental desgn, and procedure (how participats were approached/ what was said) - increase replicability
Results
Refers to raw data, includes descriptive statistics- measures of central tendancy/dispertion/graphical representations
Inferentail statistics used to provide evidence for alternate or null hypothesis
Discussion
The discovery, evaluation, alternate explanations, how to improve research
References
Appendices
Contains materials, calulations, raw data and things the reader needs to fully undrstand and repeat the research

Name- surname then initials of first name eg Moray.N. ( year of publication ) 'article title' Journal title (Italics) Volume of jounal ( Issue number of journal ) Page range of article
