Renal means kidney
It’s when the kidneys are damaged and progressively lose their function such as not filtering blood
What does renal function do for our bodies

. Essential for excretion of waste, products and drugs

Thirst, urination at night, glucose in urine, electrolyte disturbances

Headache’s, drowsiness, tremors

Bruises, rashes and prone to infection

What are the signs and symptoms of renal disease
Weight loss, shortness of breath (dyspnoea), blood in urine (haematuria), swollen ankles due to water retention
What is the general management of renal disease
What do patients need to take after getting a transplant
Patients need to take medication, they need to be immunosuppressed
They take: corticosteroids, azathioprine, cyclosporine
