- urinalysis (rule out UTI)
- USS/CT (most diagnosed incidentally when being imaged for other reasons)
- cyctoscopy (exclude bladder turmours as cause)
- CT chest and abdo for mets
- CXR- lung mets
- biopsy
- FBC (anaemia)
- Ca2+
- LFT
- U&E (often normal bc kidney can still work)
- bone scan if mets suspected

cannonball mets. almost diagnostic. (multiple large well defined masses in both lungs, measuring up to 7 cm)

- fatigue, weight loss, varicoele, ankle oedema
- 25-30% with mets
- paraneoplastic symptoms e.g. hypercal, abnormal LFTs, anaemia
