  • took over 40 years for doctors to accept their work - refused to accept Galen was wrong due to their medical training which was controlled by church
  • many doctors could still not do dissections as it was hard getting ahold of corpses
  • discoveries didn’t make anyone healthier as they didn’t come up with treatments
