IV CATHETER REMOVAL
A
- Move roller clamp on tubing to closed position.
- Remove any tape securing the tubing, stabilize catheter.
- Pull tape and transparent dressing to insertion sits avoid vein.
- Hold dry, sterile gauze over the site, pull out slowly parallel to skin.
- Apply pressure for 2-3 minutes for no bleeding.
- Apply gauze and tape over the site.
