On another occasion we got sent out

trying to pass something sinister off as normal
The drink and drugs won’t flush him out
allusion to excrement judging himself
memories of war and the message soldiers with use to eliminate the enemy”flushing”
He’s trying to escape his memories
Now his bloody life in my bloody hands
sees himself as guilty and it is no longer collective blame
it does not end with a rhyming couplet suggesting it is not a happy ending
contemplating suicide
probably armed possibly not
throughout the poem this is repeated to show that he’s perhaps being haunted at the prospect of whether or not he is innocent or guilty
