Puritans disliked the crucifix as they saw them as idols, Elizabeth liked them as they would have made each church the same and she did not want to anger the Catholics.

Someone who refuses to submit to authority or comply with regulations.

Elizabeth could not keep them in churches so kept them in the Royal Chapel.
What was the Vestment controversy?
Catholics viewed priests as special so they should wear elaborate clothing, protestants viewed them as equal so they should wear simple clothing.

Elizabeth wanted the clergy to wear special vestments. Most priests abided by her commandments.
