Reliability
Refers to how consistent your research
Validity
Refers to whether a measure actually measures what it claims to be measuring
It shows how true and accurate the research is
The research does what it intends to do
Internal Validity
Refers the whether the effects observed in a study are due to the manipulation of the independent variable and not some other factor
External Validity
Refers to whether data collected in a research study can be generalised to other situations outside of the research environment
External Validity - Ecological & Population
E- If the results of the study can be applied outside the research setting
P- If the participants in the study represent the population of the people they are applying their results to
