reliability Flashcards
reliability
consistency of a measure
internal reliability
consistency of a test or measure in research
needs to be set at the same difficulty for all participants
external reliability
consistency of results over time to make sure behaviour is recorded in the same way and that results can be used to explain behaviour reliably
inter-rater reliability
how much observers agree in recording of behaviour
if it is high it means that raters have consistently agreed
test-retest
measure of reliability that uses the same test twice
if participants scores correlate, it means that the measure has good reliability
split-half
compares 2 halves of a test
if the participants scores correlate, the measure has good reliability
