* Responsible for the safe operations of the MR facility
* Final says in safety-related matters (e.g., inclusion or exclusion of subjects, custom (peripheral) equipment).
* Handle booking logistics.

Tessel Derckx:
* Go-to person for questions about or malfunctions of MRI scanners or peripheral equipment.
* Get in touch with Philips in case of unsolvable problems.

What is ERO/BHV and their role?

Emergency Response Officers/ bedrijfshulpverlening
* The REC L BHV team will come in action when there are emergency situations. (all Student Assistants and personnel of the TOP).
* Trained personnel who can help with first aid, evacuation and emergency services.
* In case of an emergency the ERO’s are called. To start a BHV procedure, call 2222.

When is ERO available?

• only during office hours. (mon-fre, 8:00-18:00)
• While there are people working at the MRI lab, there should always be an ERO in the REC L building; If you want to scan outside of office hours, either the safety assistant or the MR operator needs to be ERO certified.

What is the role of the MR operator?

Answer 6

• Certified to scan.
• Responsible for MR safety during the experiment
• Responsible for safe conduct of colleagues / interns etc.
• Responsible for screening all persons going into the control room and beyond.
• There is only one MR operator during an experiment: MR operator is specified in Calpendo for each booking.

Role of MR safety certified assistants?

• Certified to assist during experiments.
• Allowed to do primary MRI screening of subjects and visitors (note: MR operator is still responsible)
• Access the MRI control room.

Role of Principal investigator / budget holder
