- A Christian marriage should reflect Christ’s love for the Church, marriage couple have promised to remain together until death. Christ made a sacrifice of death, in the same way a couple should consider the needs of their spouse

Marriage creates a unique and unbreakable bond between the couple - marriage is indissoluble

The Catholic Church and Church of England do not perform them as they believe that marriage is the proper place for sexual relationships (cp) and marriage should be between a man and a woman for the main purpose of procreation . The Catholic Church is opposed to same sex marriage as they believe it will undermine the value of christian marriage.
The Episcopal Church allows same sex marriage.

Christians agree that one of the main roles of sex is to create life and is an expression of love.
Therefore many Christians consider sex outside of marriage wrong. Some Christians recognise that couples may live together and have sex as a part of a comitted relationship even if they are not married.

The Church of England accepts cohabitation. The Catholic Church teaches that sex should always have the opportunity for new life and sex outside of marriage is wrong!
All Christians oppose casual sex as it takes place outside of a committed relationship.

Some Christians choose to abstain permanently from sex to focus fully on serving God. Paul the apostle was celibate. Monks and nuns in the Catholic Church are required to be celibate and are taught it is a gift rather than a restriction.

What is contraception? What are Christian beliefs regarding contraception?
Artificial contraception (pills,condom), natural conception (withdrawal). The Catholic Church teaches that artificial contraception is sinful because God gave sex to humans for reproduction but they do allow some forms of natural contraception. The Church of England believes it is responsible to use contraception to ensure children are planned and wanted.

Choosing not to have sex before marriage. There are many campaigns that promote abstinence and reflect Christian values.

What do Catholics believe about divorce? What else do they offer?
a) The Catholic Church teaches that marriage is permanent and indissoluble - therefore they do not accept divorce. The Catholic Church does not allow remarriage, considering it to be an adulterous act. Divorce is simply breaking the legal agreement rather than the holy agreement made with God.
b) The Catholic Church does annul marriages for reasons such as being forced into the marriage.

Couples should work hard to keep their vow but divorce may be inevitable and the Church should care for the couple.
