Q

Why does the Catholic Church teach that sex should be within marriage?

A

The sacrament of marraige enables 2 people to commit themselves publicly and exclusively to one another.

The promises made before God in the Catholic Church include a commitment to be together for life.

After promises are made, the commitment is consumated by the physical union of sex.
