What are the 2 main purposes of the church for Catholics?
A
To provide a space where they can meet to worship together. The most important service in Catholic worship is the Mass which centres around the altar. Meaning the altar should be the central focus of the church.
To provide a space for individual prayer. This means that the Church should be a quiet, peaceful space that inspires people to pray to God.
