- Hypothalamus detects too little water in the blood.
- Pituitary gland releases lots of anti diuretic hormone.
- ADH is carried to the kidneys.
- High levels of ADH increases the permeability of the nephron.
- More water is reabsorbed back into the bloodstream.
- Blood water levels rise, less water in the urine.

- Hypothalamus detects too much water in the blood.
- Pituitary gland releases less Anti diuretic hormone into the blood.
- Less ADH causes a decrease in the permeability of the nephron.
- Less water reabsorbed into the blood stream, blood water levels drop.
