Regulating Ca2+ Levels Flashcards

1
Q

Parathyroid Hormone (PTH)

A

•released from parathyroid gland(four small glands attached to the thyroid)
•increases Ca2+ levels in the blood
•travels to:
BONES- breakdown of bone to release Ca2+
KIDNEY- increases reabsorption of Ca2+
SMALL INTESTINE- increase absorption of Ca2+ from good
