Refraction Flashcards
What happens when light ray goes through block at 90degrees?
The light rays slow down but WON’T CHANGE DIRECTION
Why does light bend?
Because when it travels from one medium to another because it changes speed.
Where does air travel slower?
In optically denser materials
Where does air travel fastest?
In a vacuum
What happens when light rays enter the block at any angle other than 90degrees?
The light rays BEND or refract
What happens when the light ray EXITS the block at 90Degrees?
The light ray will leave the block when the bottom of the block intercepts the light ray. It will REFRACT
Compare the direction of the ray entering the block with the direction of the ray emerging from the opposite side.
It changes direction
What happens when light moves from glass to air?
It speeds up 💨
What happens to lighte when it enters a different material at 90°?
Light will not bend
