• Pope Paul III agreed to the council of Trent
• they only 3 times so it was very unsuccessful
• this made Catholics far stronger to thackle the Protestant treat

• He worked very hard to make it successful
• the members were thought to be loyal to the pope
• it set put missionary work in Protestant land
• they also set up private schools for the members children. They were very good schools and the children were treated very well

• they or their family had to pay to be improsioned
• they could be fined or burned at stake
