Name three abuses in the catholic church and explain two of them:
Bad organisation: Priests wer often uneducated, they could not read the bible.
Simony: The buying and selling of church positions
Absenteeism: Cardinals and bishops who had more than one diocese could only live in one of them, so they were absent from the others.
What is the reformation?
A period of time in history (16-17 century) when people reformed against the catchplic church.
Name five reasons for the reformation:
The printing press.
The influence of the renaissance.
Abuses of power and wealth.
Kings and princes wanted to control and influence the catholic church in their countries.
People wanted to read the bible by their own instead of believing the pope.
