A

Plasma: fibrinogen
Serum: no fibrinogen

21
Q

What does a PCV reading tell us about the patient?

A

If an animal is anemic or dehydrated

22
Q

Equine PCV

A

32-52%

25
Q

Bovine PCV

A

26
Q

How long do you spin a PCV hematocrit tube for?

A

2-5 minutes

27
Q

What is the area called in between the plasma and the packed red cells?

A

Buffy coat

28
Q

What is the normal color of plasma?

A

Clear or straw

29
Q

What does cloudy serum indicate?

A

Lipemic

30
Q

What does a reddish tinge to serum indicate?

A

Hemolyzed

31
Q

What does yellow serum indicate?

A

Icteric (possible liver disease)

32
Q

How many cells do we count during a manual differential count and why?

A

100

Easier to turn into a percentage

33
Q

How is a PCV test done?
