Lincolns 10% Plan
10% of 1860 voters (White rich landowners) take an oath of loyalty to the union. This excluded a high-ranking military officials and Confederate leaders.
Johnsons 10%+ Plan
All white man with property over $20,000 are not allowed in the government, but if you come to DC and beg he will give you a pardon
Congressional reconstruction plan
To add the 15th amendment, enforce the enforcement acts, involve the civil rights, bring up the tenure of office act, and put five military districts in the south
Civil rights act 1875
Made sure that there is equality in all public facilities. That there is no segregation
Enforcement acts
Also known as the KKK acts, One act provided for the federal supervision of elections in Southern states. Another act gave the president the power to use federal troops in areas where the Klan was active
Freeman’s bureau
Federal agency made to help Friedman settle after the war
Grants presidency
Involved corruption I was overshadowed by the president. He appointed friends to the cabinet, liberal Republican Party formed to beat him in the next election

Election of 1876
Between Sam Tilden (Dem) and Rutherford Hayes (Repub).
Dems appointed him even though he lost the popular vote as long as he agreed to the compromise of 1877.
Compromise of 1877
- democrats must be in his cabinet
- last of the military government removed in the south
- promised money to rebuild Southern rail lines
