A

-It was pocket vetoed by Lincoln and not passed

Johnson’s plan

A

-New President after Lincoln is killed
-Before Lincolns death, Johnson promised to punish the South and be strict with the Reconstruction plan but when he becomes President, Johnson backs out of all his ideas and does nothing of what he said
-Impeached but wins by one vote to stay as president however, no one listens to him ever again
- Major loser in gov’t eyes

Mississippi Vagrant Act (1865)

A

Any Negroes, or mulattoes over the age of eighteen years, found with no job or assembling themselves together with a different race should be fined.
In case any freedmen fail after fives days from their fine, it will be the duty of the sheriff to hire out the freedmen.

Louisiana Farm Labor Act (1865)

A

Bad work is not allowed
If anyone fails to listen to orders, neglect of duty, and leaving their home without permission.
Anyone who is disobedient, impudence, swearing or indecent language, fighting with the employer will be fined. Any difficulties with the workers and the employers it will be settled by the employers.

Florida Act on Public Places

A

If a negro goes into any religious or other white public places, they shall be guilty of misdemeanor, they will be sentenced to go stand in the pillory for an hour or they will be whipped.

A

Any negros under the age of 18 whose parents have no means or the refused to support their kids the former owner will have the preference for whom will be their family.
