What can give you narrow pulse pressure?
Coarctation of aorta
Aortic stenosis
Hypovolaemia
Peripheral vasoconstriction (cold extremities)
Hypovolaemia in paeds causes?
Haemorrhagic shock
Dehydration
Pump failure causing narrow pulse pressure?
Tachyarrythmia
Myocarditis
Tamponade
Important signs in Paeds?
Purpura
Neck stiffness
23 hours of fever, vomiting, very unwell. DDx?
Sepsis
Meningitis/encephalitis
DKA
Kussmaul’s breathing is? When
Tachypnoea in shallow breaths
Metabolic acidosis
Or DKA
Wheeze in paeds?
Bronchiolitis
Asthma
Non blanching rashes? Petechiae
Meningicoccal

Initial bolus for fluid in dehydrated/shocked kid?

If you get to 40ml/kg or 2x20ml/kg for fluid resus and it’s STILL not working then?

CALL FOR HELP. ICU or RCH.
