What does the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) set out?
the rights that every person should be entitled too.
What is the UK govt obliged to do?
The uk is obliged to provide these rights to those living in the uk.
People can only have human rights if they acknowledge the responsibility to make sure these rights are available. What 2 responsibilities does this include?
humans have the rights to freedom of speech, but the responsibility not to say something that causes offence.
children have the right to protection from cruelty, but the responsibility not to bully or harm each other.

What is social justice?
means ensuring society treats people fairly whether they are poor or wealthy. it involves protecting everyone’s human rights.
What are 3 key Christian points on social justice?
- there are many teachings in the bible about the importance of social justice and caring for others.
- Some of the old testemant prophets were quick to condemn and looked forward to a fairer society. For, example the prophet Amos said, “ Let justice roll on like a river and righteousness like a never- failing scheme” (Amos 5:24)
- Jesus stressed the need to help others, for example in his teaching, “ love your neighbour as yourself” (mark 12:31)
