1. The traditional image is ‘well-kept’/clean (white) whereas the realistic looks more like a man who has darker skin and realistically wouldn’t have access to a shower etc.
2. The traditional image is more European (white) looking than Jewish/Middle Eastern (darker skin tone).
3. The features of the traditional Jesus are finer whereas the realistic is more thick-set.
4. The traditional image includes fine robes and the realistic has everyday clothing.

This means that, like a lamb, Jesus is completely obedient to God. This was an essential part of Jesus following what His father wanted and sacrificing himself on the cross.

Light of the world means that Jesus is the energy through which we can see the truth - the best way in which to live our lives. It is connected to ‘I am the way, the truth, the light’.
