what is rational recreation
as britan changed into an industrially based society, sports, pastimes, developed in a number of different ways, reflectinf sociatal changes, the activities participated in were termed as rational recreations
what is mob football
- anyone can play (mainly lower class)

- form of entertainement

- very chaotic, quick, voilent and agressive

- very complex rules aimed to exclude who couldnt read

- people came from different places and the people had different rules
- NGB’s, more literate / administrated society
- competitions - everyone plays some which increases the respectability of the sport
