Rates of reaction Flashcards
Observing chemical reactions
Reveal answer wowow
Literally the first page is know what reactions happens like err idk fizzing, gas bubbles, temp change, burning, pops, awiughlgiawdlhougad
Rate of a chemical reaction ( its speed )
Nvm about this one its telling us to order chemical changes on which is the fastest
So dumb
How does time taken relate to rate of chemical reaction?
Shorter/quicker the time taken, the faster/slower the rate of reaction
Explain rate of reaction in high concentration in terms of particles
Higher the concentration, the more particles in a fixed area. More frequent collisions so they will react faster. Rate of reaction = high
Explain rate of reaction in low concentration in terms of particles
Lower the concentration, less particles in a fixed area. Less frequent collisions so they will react slower. Rate of reaction = low
How to draw a tangent to the curve?
It’s purpose?
W.I.P
How to calculate rate from time?
Rate (s^-1) = 1 divided by average time(s)
Sometimes it’ll tell u to times by 100 on table idk its in the booklet
State and explain, using particle theory, your conclusion from the concentration investigation
^^^ this is a MODEL ANSWER wtf????
Haha trolled just remember those cards explaining rate of reaction of high conc and low conc
Good luck bro
Why does the rate also increase when temperature increases
MODEL ANSWER HOLY SHIT
Increase temperature = particles gain energy + move faster.
There’ll be more particles with enough energy to react.
More frequent collisions between particles leading to faster rate of reaction.
How to know if an experiment is fair from volume and conc. of both acids?
It’s in page 17 about err which dissolves faster, a sugar cube or granulated sugar?
Same number of acid particles in each diagram
What can u understand about surface area?
The larger the particle, the smaller the surface area
Bro this was in the booklet why does this sound super off
^ too much biology
How do u collect the gas produced?
By using a gas syringe
Explain, using particle theory, why you have drawn the line like this. You should include a diagram to help explain surface area.
MODEL ANSWER hiugafiouaf
But like this in other words is like:
How does powder cause rate of reaction to be faster?
Increased the surface area, by moving from lumps to powder, increases the number of particles available on the surface that can react. There will be more frequent collisions between particles and it leads to a faster rate of reaction.
Advantage of connecting the balance to a computer
Sounds why u should use a computer for gaining data
Provides continuous reading
How can coal dust most likely to cause an explosion than lumps of coal?
Coal dust has larger surface area than coal lumps + can fly in air therefore more likely of explosion
This is in a mine okay?
