Q

What is range and how do you find it

A

Range is the difference between the largest and smallest values of a data distribution

Range= highest value- lowest value

Q

What is the difference in the set ups between popular standard deviation and Samble standard deviation

A

Popular Standard deviation is divided by N

Sample standard deviation is divided by n-1

Q

Name the 6 steps to finding standard deviation

A

1) find the mean
2) find the differences (minus all each number in the data set by the mean)
3) Square the results of step 2
4) find the sum of the squared results from step 3
5) divide by N or n-1 (depending on whether you are working with a population or sample) (the answer of step 5 is variance
6) take the square root of the results (this is standard deviation)

Q

What is the coefficient of variation and how is it given

A

A statistic that expresses the standard deviation as a percentage of the mean

You take the outcome of Standard deviation divided by the mean times 100
