How are range diagrams helpful to the operator?
A
Geometry of crane compared with diagram to determine boom length, boom angle, job length, and jib offset
Help with max hook height determination
Verify minimum allowable clearances between boom tip and load blocks
May be the only source for determining load radius from boom angle and boom length readings
It’s critical when actual radius cannot be determined
