Air/Hydraulic systems leaks/cracks

Tires/Hooks/Latches
Wire Rope
Electrical
Ground Conditions
Equipment Level within manufacturer specs
Windows
Rails/Stops/Supporting surface
Safety devices/Operational Aids
What conditions necessitate an additional inspection?
All new or rented equipment
Modified equipment
Any repairs or adjustments
Post assembly
Severe service
Equipment not in regular use(idle for 3+ months)
Equipment involved in an accident
What are some common safety features that need to be checked during an inspection?
Rear view
Audible outside signal
Fire Extinguisher
Self filler caps/Fuel arrestors
Wheels chalks
Lighting for nights
Boom drum stop devices/Book stops
Hoist shut offs/Anti two blocking
Initial Inspection
Prior to initial use, all new and altered cranes shall be inspected by a qualified person
Regular Inspections
Frequent-Daily to monthly by a designated person
Periodic-1 to 12 month intervals or as recommended by the manufacturer or a qualified person
