Survival vs. Social Theory
The idea that as humans began establishing larger and larger communities, the primal goal shifted from survival to integration. A man in ancient times might be attracted to a woman with characteristics that indicate a healthy mate but a modern man might be attracted to someone society arbitrarily agrees is attractive to “fit in.”
It’s worth contemplating how our evolutionary instincts stemming from our survival obligations clash with those stemming from our social instincts.
Sci-fi weed vapers
One or multiple characters in a story that are an only slightly exaggerated version of people that can vape weed without anyone knowing. It could make a cool touch like drinking milk in the clockwork Orange
Private Elections
An organization that has like-minded members that vote on decisions like which other companies to support and then collectively take an action based on the results of the votes. It can be taken a step further that you get all your products and services through this organization so that you can collectively support or boycott certain people making a larger impact on society than just one person.
Tendency to click on the non-highlighted button
There’s a practice where websites make the button they want you to click on pop. I noticed that after years of doing the opposite, I sort of developed a predisposition to automatically click on the non-popped up button.
