Q

Life is a movie

A

The idea that we have been so influenced by visual media that we strive for the lives normally portrayed in it. that’s why when we are sad we wanna listen to sad music because that’s what happens in movies. we are only truly happy because we come close to achieving what the characters in movies are happy achieving. this can go hand in hand with children mirroring their parents to learn behavior. We even learn how to talk from them. If old people actually talked the way they talk on old movies then it kind of proves it. Before movies it was books

Project Idea: Life in a song

A

This idea came from silk by Isaac Lewis that I could become a musician who keeps a constant style throughout my albums like not just the genre or whatever of music but you could basically pull up any song and itd feel connected to everything else. It’s like the second half of Abby road but my entire career is like that. The lumineers also tried to do this with Cleopatra and their next album that makes references to sleep on the floor the style best for this job is something like that song silk.

Project Idea: Tv vs reality short film

A

A short film that starts with a camera looking through eyeglasses. It looks like it’s a person walking somewhere. It has those cuts like for like 5 seconds he’s walking on a sidewalk, cars are passing by and then it cuts to him walking a little further then it cuts to him still walking but the background has changed to an incident happening. Basically after a few of those shots it starts cutting to very gruesome but very real stuff that’s happening all over the world. The person is witnessing all of it but doesn’t seem to be having any kind of reaction. He really observes it tho like as the camera is supposed to be his eyes, it turns around to look at incidents that are extra interesting to him but he ke ps walking. At one point he eats popcorn. In all these shots, you can see that person is aware of his surroundings but the people in the surroundings can’t really see him. But in the last shot, an indigenous woman getting murdered directly looks him in the eye and asks for help. At this point the camera zooms out to reveal that the eyes were inside a vr headset so even though the world would look look-aroundable the whole time, it’s because it was in vr. And the person was walking on a treadmill. He takes off the headset, turns off the lights, and goes and sleeps next to his wife. Fade to black.

Project Idea: Scientific forces as gods novel

A

We know gravity, electro-magnetism, strong forces, and weak forces exist. But we don’t know why or how. We personify Gods because we need to believe that there is a conscious entity governing us. That all of this isn’t meaningless. That us doing good matters. I think it would be cool to establish a universe where humans know about these forces but treat them as Gods. The science is all accurate and up-to date by the time I write this but this personification is a way to deal with humans’ own inability to conclude that their existence is meaningless.

This could be set in a near future where technological development has actually halted. I think this would be an important aspect. Sci-fi generally deals with exaggerated technological developments but I think it would be really cool that people of the modern world are still getting cool gadgets but the scientific investigation into what created the universe and why it exists has hit a brick wall and there’s no more leads. Cults have started to rise up out of scientific communities.

Unreliable narrators will be important. It’d be helpful to look more into how unreliable narrators are dealt with in other works.

Q

Project Idea: Decay

A

An idea for a graphic novel where the protagonist has this ability to see atomic decay which is harmless but has a different color depending on the age of the atomic construction which can tell the age of the item or being. The way I’m thinking of making it work is that when atoms are packed together in a solid object, they start building up this rust like thing at the edges where they connect. The protagonist can somehow see this rust and it’s a different color depending on how long it’s been building up. This makes her wanna become an archaeologist cause she knows what new things with the rust look like but she doesn’t know what the oldest thing would look like. She can tell the age of an object by just looking at it. It also makes a cool effect for people sometimes when they shed a little bit of skin the quickly becomes dust, etc.

Use this idea to go kind of crazy with colors.
