trim-sulfa.
Gram + anaerobic branching, + sulfur granules. Neck or face infextion w/ draining yellow material.
Actinomyces.
TX of actinomyces?
High dose PCN 6-12 weeks.
Asplenic patients (surg or sickle cell autosplenectomy) are susceptible to?
Encapsulated organisms (decreased IgM, decreased complement activation and opsoniziation).
