What is the mechanism of action of anastrozole?
Aromatase inhibitor. This inhibits the conversion of adrenally-produced androgens into estrogens by the aromatase enzyme in fatty tissues, the adrenal glands and the liver.
What is tamoxifen indicated for?
Pre- and perimenopausal women with oestrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer not previously treated with tamoxifen, gynaecomastia prevention in men
What is the mechanism of action of tamoxifen?
Tamoxifen competitively inhibits estrogen binding to its receptor in oestrogen receptor positive breast cancer cells
