Systemic vasculitis of small and medium-sied arteries that presents with involvement of URI (sinusitis, nasal obstruction, epistaxis, otitis), lungs (hemoptysis), and kidneys (rapidly progressing glomerulonephritis). Presence of cANCA is typical.
Granulomatosis with polyangitis (wegener’s)
Autoimmune disorder that presents with proximal muscle weakness and skin involvement including violaceous discoloration of the upper eye lids (heliotrope rash), and a raised, violaceous, scaling eruption on the knuckles (Gottron’s sign). CPK levels are typically elevated.
Dermatomyositis
Young woman w/ malar rash, photosensitivity, malaise, anorexia, arthralgias
SLE
Middle-aged pt with fever, malaise, anorexia, and lymph node enlargement. Lymph node biopsy reveals atypical lymphocytes
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma
