Type of Hifu Shiraku
Bloodletting from areas that show signs of blood stasis
Combined with cupping to help express blood
Diagnosing Oketsu
Color: changes in pigmentation (dark, bruising, dull, purple)
rough, lusterless skin (includes psoriasis)
moles, skin tags, petechiae, birthmarks
hard, stiff, painful areas
masses, indurations (kori’s), thickening of skin
When do you use Ranshi Ho?
Patients with an excess condition because it is stronger and more moving
Ranchi Ho technique
- Cup area for 20-30 seconds to mark the area
- make 4-10 quick shallow insertions within area of lancet
- dispose of lancet immediately
- place cup back on area and monitor blood

Guidelines for Ranchi Ho
Weaker=1 cup
Average= 1-3 cups
Excess= 3 or more cups

upper shoulders: stomach, GYN, HEENT, local
occipital
